Healing Anxiety & Depression

Substance abuse affects brain function in different ways depending upon the substance used. Two people can use the exact same substance in the same quantities for the same amount of time and the severity of the affect on their brain will be different. Some people are more susceptible than others to the affects of foreign substances. We have found that neuroimaging is very beneficial for people with substance abuse issues because they are able to actually see the damage that has been done to their brain. With the aide of the neuroimaging we are also able to find and treat their underlying disorders. Most people who abuse substances are doing so in order to make themselves feel better. Some people are self-medicating themselves to treat depression or anxiety, for example. If you or someone you know needs help with substance abuse, please contact our office for more information and ways to get help.
