Central Obesity in Midlife Associated with Increased Dementia Risk

A recent study of 6,600 patients revealed those with central (truncal) obesity in midlife are 35% more likely to develop dementia later in life.

Added weight carried from the middle of the back to the navel is more dangerous overall according to researchers.  Central obesity is also associated with stroke, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and mortality than overall obesity.
